Students, doctoral candidates, and staff of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science can approach the ombudsperson regarding matters related to the functioning of the institute/faculty community to seek support and assistance in resolving issues. The ombudsperson’s role is to listen to the reporting party, identify the problem, and provide advice or help in resolving it.

Principles of Operation

Confidentiality
Information shared with the ombudsperson is treated as confidential and is not disclosed to other individuals or units at the University of Wrocław unless explicitly requested by the reporting party.

Impartiality
The ombudsperson is neither a judge nor an advocate for any party in a conflict. Their sole objective is to resolve the issue.

Informality
Actions taken by the ombudsperson are informal and independent of formal procedures in place at the University of Wrocław, including disciplinary measures. The ombudsperson does not act ex officio, initiate procedures, or participate in them as a party but informs the reporting party about potential courses of action. Depending on the nature of the issue, the ombudsperson may also undertake informal interventions with faculty authorities or staff to clarify the matter or mediate a resolution.

Independence
In their role, the ombudsperson operates independently of university authorities and procedures. Faculty and institute staff are required to cooperate with the ombudsperson when necessary.
