History of the Faculty
History of mathematics at University of Wrocław since 1702
- 1702 – The Faculty of Philosophy with School in Logic and in Physics and Metaphysics was established at Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
- 1945 – The Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of University of Wrocław and Technical University of Wrocław was founded.
The first dean was prof. Hugo Steinhaus. - 1951 – The Technical University of Wrocław separated from University of Wrocław. The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of University of Wrocław was established.
- 1954 – The Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry was established.
- 1995 – The Faculty has split into Faculty of Chemistry and Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
- 1996 – The Faculty has split into Faculty of Physics and Astronomy and Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.
The first dean of the the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science was prof. Władysław Narkiewicz. - 1999 – 2002 – The Dean: prof. Ryszard Szwarc.
- 2002 – 2005 – The Dean: prof. Ryszard Szekli.
- 2005 – 2008 – The Dean: prof. Tomasz Rolski.
- 2008-2016 – The Dean: prof. Piotr Biler.
- 2016-2024 -The Dean: prof. Tomasz Jurdziński.
- 2024- – The Dean: prof. Dariusz Buraczewski.
